Summer Make-Over

Make-over shows are all the rage, and I’ve always been one to rearrange furniture to suit my mood (much to my mother’s chagrin).  The same holds true for my online presence.  Groovy Gal Designs Online has undergone a summer make-over: new color scheme, streamlined pages, current items.  Stop on by to take a look!

On a side note, I’ve discontinued my monthly “Groovy Finds” section of the website.  It just took up too much of my time; however, I’m always on the lookout for unique items, and I’ll post those here as I unearth them…

StartArt Houston Show in Zen Art Space at Galleria 3

I’m very excited to announce that I have several pieces hanging in Zen Art Space at the Galleria 3 in Houston.  StartArt Houston arranged the exhibit to help connect people with accessible art.  Thank you to Steve and Paula Hawkins for their hard work, and for Kyle at Zen for creating this opportunity for exposure!

Gallery hours are noon-9pm Monday thru Saturday and noon-6pm Sunday. StartArt staff members and artists will be present on Saturdays and Sundays, so take that opportunity to come out and meet the team and learn about the artists’ work first-hand.

Here are some of the pieces I’ve placed in the gallery (click image to see larger):

So I’ve Been A Little Bit Busy…

So I’ve been a little bit busy since the last time I posted here.  The spring semester is always busy for teachers of high school seniors as we do our best to make sure that these young adults graduate out into the big, scary world.  With that out of the way, I’ve had some time to turn back to my own personal journey and to expand my art horizons.

I’ve created four new large canvases (24″ x 24″) which are on display at Main 101 Restaurant in La Porte, Texas as part of the Art Walk by the Bay for the month of July.  Here are the pieces:

Sunset Hill Original Acrylic Painting

"Sunset Hill" 24" x 24" acrylics on canvas

Psychedelic Tree Original Acrylic Painting

"Psychedelic Tree" 24" x 24" acrylics on canvas

Flowers at Sunset Original acrylic painting
